Texas Hold’em Poker
Operating as the world’s most popular poker variation, the aim of this one is to make the best five-card poker hand that you can. This is done by using any of the two hole cards and five community cards. Gameplay may not always necessarily reach the five community cards, depending upon the hands that you and your opponent(s) can make prior to this. At showdown level, all players have to reveal their hole cards to determine the winner.
Omaha Poker
This variation operates in a very similar way to Texas Hold’em, but with a very noticeable difference. Each player has four cards dealt out to them face-down at the start. It is necessary to use two of those hole cards, while three of the community cards need to be used to make a five-card hand. Omaha, alongside Texas Hold’em, is another highly popular online poker game.
Caribbean Stud Poker
Again, the rules surrounding gameplay in this variant are similar to Hold’em, but you will play the game against the house, rather than others. This is why it is considered more of a casino game than a poker room option. Obviously, this means that there is less pressure to perform well against other gamers.
7-Card Stud Poker
Prior to the influx of people wanting to play Texas Hold’em, 7-Card Stud was the most popular poker game in the United States of America. And it has picked up some prevalence in the UAE today, too. Between two and eight players are able to play it, and all players have two cards dealt face-down and one face-up at the beginning. It is the up-cards dealt out in 7-Card Stud that players use to make their next decisions.
Draw Poker
In any variation of draw poker, all players are dealt a complete hand before the first betting round. The hand is then developed by replacing those within their set, with the hopes of winning by improving it after drawing new cards.
Video Poker
Another casino game rather than poker room option, video poker utilizes five-card draw rules and merges the setup with a slot machine scenario. You need to make the best five-card hand with the cards dealt, and a Royal Flush remains the best possibility. However, you’re playing solely against a computer with video poker, and options like Deuces Wild and Jacks or Better remain highly popular titles to access.
